Long range and thermal cameras FAQ’s
-
What can thermal cameras not see through?
Thermal cameras can not see through a few materials, such as glass and aluminum foil. Glass and aluminum foil block infrared rays from passing through it and, as a result, the radiation can not be detected by a thermal surveillance camera.Speak to a security expert -
Are thermal cameras the same as infrared cameras?
Thermal surveillance cameras and infrared (IR) cameras are not the same. The key difference is that infrared cameras can detect and visualize objects based on the IR radiation they reflect and emit. These cameras visualize stimuli in a thermal image and can see in complete darkness.Speak to a security expert -
Do Pelco's thermal cameras have radiometric temperature measurements?
Select Pelco thermal camera models have radiometric capabilities to detect abnormal temperature fluctuations, within a predefined time or outside a set value, that could highlight a problem, such as overheating equipment.Get a demo
